Storytelling as Game Design and Player Design

I've frequently been dissatisfied with the tools we have to analyze and break down stories.

​

This is my attempt to use the framework of games to describe how films engage the audience, and how the audience participates in them.

​

I want to shift the focus from studying what’s on the screen, to what’s between the screen and us. â€‹â€‹â€‹
