Storytelling as Game Design and Player Design

I've frequently been dissatisfied with the tools we have to analyze and break down stories.

This is my attempt to use the framework of games to describe how films engage the audience, and how the audience participates in them.

I want to shift the focus from studying what’s on the screen, to what’s between the screen and us. ​​
